An Appeal for Help!

My niece, Kim, over at A Peach in Stitches, is in a 'peach of a mess'. She is asking for help so I thought I would put her appeal here on my blog to help her out. She is missing instructions for block #2 of the BOM "Paris in the Fall". The pattern is from This & That. Please go over to her blog and see if you can help her out. Thanks friends!

I am sew lovin' this BOM that Molly has so graciously shared with all of us. It is really fun and the finished product will be awesome. Go over to Molly's Place and check it out. Tree Time!

It's Tree Time show 'n tell again. I am participating in Molly's "Tree Time" BOM. I got a bit behind and had to get two blocks made during July.
The above is block #6 and below is block #7. I can't wait to start working on block #8.

The blocks are so cute, primitive and simple. A BOM that would be perfect for anyone who wants to learn to work with wool and hand embroidery. I am using the same background for all my blocks and the applique pieces are all done in wool. I'm excited to see this quilt put together. If you have not been over to Molly's Place, you need to hurry over and check out this BOM!

Come on......join us in the fun....it's time....Tree Time!
Sew, here are my trees:

Another Tree!!!!

Molly's Place posted the second "Tree Time" pattern and I just couldn't wait! I've already made it tonight while watching TV. I think it is the cutest tree -- so prim and cute. I used wool for the star, tree skirt and the packages. It reminds me of a Charlie Brown Christmas tree! I am using the same background fabric for all my blocks -- a white with red, green, and gold splatters on it. Caauuuuuttttteeee! Even if I do say so.
Are you planting your trees in anticipation of Christmas 2010? You know, Christmas will be here before we can even give it much thought. I can't wait to display my "Tree Time" quilt this Christmas.

Trees, Trees, Trees

Sometimes I just can't see the forest for the trees! Do you ever feel that way? Well, that is not always a bad thing. If you want to feel good about it, go over to Molly's Place. She is hosting a fantastic BOM called "Tree Time."

Molly is one my "Wacky Sistas" (our quilt group) and these are her very own original designs. She is oh so very talented and I am so proud to call her my friend!!! She has designed some great trees for us to get 'growing'!!! SEW, go check out her blog, gather your supplies, get planted in that favorite chair, and join the fun!

I have decided to use all the same background for my trees. The following is what I have chosen. The picture does not do it justice at all. It is an offwhite background that looks like red, green, and some gold have been splattered all over the fabric! Now I just have to get busy.

You KNOW you want to do this BOM!!!! Just go on over and take a peak. I promise you won't be sorry.

Bunny Hill BOM

Yea! The Bunny Hill Block-of-the-Month top is completed. Now to just get it quilted. This was a very fun project. Each block has been hand stitched using the blanket stitch. What fun it was to do all the embellishments. I am hoping to embellish a bit more with some quilting. I'm not sure that I'm real crazy about my choice of sashing and borders, but I did not want to have to go out and buy more fabric.

Now I am starting another hand embroidery project, but it won't take a whole year to complete (I hope -- LOL!) Here's a sneak peak at the fabrics I will be using -- purple, green and white!

I think she may be back!

Hey, I think my "Mojo" may be back. You see, I haven't really done much sewing or embroidery. I normally always do embroidery work at night during the week while watching TV and then do my piecing, etc. on the weekends. I have not done this in a while. I guess I had a "temporary" loss of interest. Not really loss of interest, but loss of "want to".
I am doing the Bunny Hill BOM (see side bar). I was doing GREAT and getting each month's block done. Then it happened, I fell behind. Well, my dear friend, Molly, has been working on hers and inspired me. I have got the other four blocks together and now I am stitching them down with the buttonhole stitch. I will add all the embellishments (ribbon, buttons, etc.) after the quilt is complete and quilted (those things tend to get in the way of a machine quilter).
Here is a 'not very good' picture of the first 3 blocks complete (except for embellishments) and the next four that are in the process of being stitched down. I'm pumped! My Mojo has returned! Thanks Molly!
I know what you are really thinking: 'wonder why she doesn't get that lint roller and clean all those threads off that design wall?' LOL! I've been thinking about it! Does that count?

A Christmas Wish BOM

Gail Pan has offered a Christmas Wish BOM over at her sight. This is the first block. I really enjoyed stitching it; in fact I'm getting really into this hand-embroidery. I haven't added the borders yet. I think I'm going to wait until I complete the blocks and then decide the border fabrics. Check out my side bar and click on the Christmas Wish BOM for more details so you can join the fun.

A Tisket, A Tasket

I have taken the plunge and started the "A Tisket, A Tasket" BOM....I spent most of today handstitching around the applique using the blanket stitch with Presencia thread. I think this is going to be a really cute quilt.
