A New Friend and a GIVE-AWAY!

Friends! What would we do without them?? There are many types of friends -- those that we consider family; friends we work with, go to church with, neighbors; friends who are parents of our children's friends; cyber friends. A cyber friend is one we meet through our on-line contacts that we may not have made in person. I have a new 'cyber friend' that is just that - LINDA!

Linda is a kindred spirit. We are both quilters, we both live in Texas, we both have sons, and we are both grandmothers. Linda grew up in San Antonio and lives in Pleasanton, Texas. Linda is also a pattern designer. She has a background in art as well as early childhood education. She approaches her quilt designing the same way she would if she were illustrating a book. I love the whimsical and colorful designs. For the last few years, Linda has been selling her patterns locally in San Antonio and recently began selling them online. Here are just a couple of her patterns (keep reading because you can win one!!!!):

The Good Sheperd. This quilt is approximately 43" x 36" and is a loving shepherd cradling a lamb on his shoulder. The verse embroidered around the border is Isaiah 40:11 ~ The Lord tends his flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart. What a great quilt for a baby, for Easter, for a church classroom, or gift for a friend -- think Baptism, Confirmation, Easter, etc.Another adorable pattern is The Little Cowboy of a mischievous looking little boy (or girl -- pigtails and skirt are included in the pattern) is standing in oversized cowboy boots and hats. This quilt is approximately 59-1/2 x 51 1/2 inches. This would be a precious baby quilt, a birthday quilt, or to be used in a western-theme room.

Kim Has Done it AGAIN!

Kim over at Bitty Bits and Pieces has done it again! Is this not the cutest little bag you ever saw???? I just love it. It would make great little gift bags. I'm thinking of making some for my little granddaughter to use as gifts for her little friends for birthday parties!

It's 2nd Blogiversy and We Have a Winner!

Today is my second year anniversary of being a member of the Blogging World. A few posts earlier, I announced a give-away in honor of my anniversary as well as surpassing 200 posts. Today, we drew the lucky winner.

Below is a picture of my Granddaughter, Camryn, and our dog, Toby, as they watch TV -- just woke up! Camryn is going to do the drawing.

All the names of posters are written on paper and then cut apart.



The names were placed inside this large red bowl -- we picked a big bowl so we would have room to toss them around before drawing.

Anniversary Give-Away!

March 22 will be my 2-year anniversary as a Blogger. In addition, I have surpassed 200 posts. SEW, in honor of all of you who visit my blog, I am having a special GIVE-AWAY.

I have made a little trio of matching items that would be useful to any quilter, stitcher, etc. Below is a picture of a needle book, pin keep and a scissor keep.

The little needlebook is strip pieced and has a hand-embroidered lady on the front cover who is stitchin' away.

Inside the needlebook are two pages of felt to store your favorite needles as well as pockets on both the front and back covers.


Next, we have a heart-shaped scissor-keep for your scissors. It is heart-shaped for the love shown by all the wonderful bloggers who visit my blog.


And last, but not least, is the matching pinkeep. Around the middle of the pinkeep, I have embroidered "pins and needles". It is filled with crush walnut shells to keep your pins oiled and sharp.
