G.o.M.? What the heck you say? What does it mean??? This is something that my little feeble brain has come up with (I know that is scaring some of you!). G.o.M means "Gift of the Month"!!!! I know, I know, there is still another year before Christmas. But how many times have you said "if I had only started that sooner" or "if I only had more time"? Well, if we set a goal to make a minimum (more if you can) of one gift per month (mini quilt, pillow, table runner, coasters, etc.) by the time December 25, 2009, rolls around, you will have TWELVE gifts ready for giving (and more if you can manage more than one gift per month).
If we do this together, we can encourage each other to get it done! So what do you say? Are you up to the challenge?????
If there is enough interested, perhaps I'll start a separate blog for interested folks so we can post pictures, links, tutorials, encouragement to each other, etc. for making our gifts. Hey, maybe even a picture/icon thingy to post on our blogs.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Sign me up!
I'll join you aswell. Who knows I might actually get something done for next Christmas
Love and hugs Gina xxx
Good idea, count me in!
I've already pledged to make one pair of Christmas potholders every month in 2009. Of course, my beau sat across from me at dinner and just smiled when I announced my plan ... that's one of the many reasons I love him!
Sounds like a great idea! I always plan to start Christmas things early, but never actually do it! For me it is always "I wish I had one more day". That goes for everything in my life - from studying for exams, writing essays, cleaning before company comes, finishing gifts for others.... Well, you get the idea. So count me in. I will try to keep up with you.
I would love to do it, but I don't have much confidence in ME (no I am not whats her name in the Sound of Music! LOL). If you could modivate me to do a gift a month I will surely join anything.
What a great idea. I've already set myself some patchwork goals this year so I won't overload myself with "GoM" ........BUT..........I will be watching if you set up another blog because I'm always after nifty gift ideas. I might be able to manage to make one or two, as well as my PIF or course. :-)
Great idea. Count me in
What a great plan! Would love to join in !!.....Luv Ann J
What a great idea. I never made any homemade gifts in 2008 and was sorely dissapointed in myself. I have promised however, to get my act together in '09. With your help there will be no stopping me!!!
Okay -- it's done. My January G.O.M. is finished. One pair of quilted Christmas-themed potholders. I'll post the oics on flicker since I can't figure out how to do it here. Yay! One month down, 11 to go. My beau if in shock! LOL!
I'd love to join this. I have a whole bin of Christmas fabric I was just getting ready to shove to the back of the closet....now I can leave it out and get busy using it up. Sign me up!! Gifts ready and not up sewing the night before handing out would be a stress reliever!!
